THIS AGREEMENT

Once a reservation is made, the guest has entered into a binding contract with Milner House Guesthouse and these terms and conditions apply in full. Where a company, agency or similar has made the booking on behalf of the guest, the agreement is with that third party. Third parties should ensure that the guests are aware of these terms and conditions. This agreement applies for all bookings made after or arriving from 1st July 2021.

COVID-19

You should not travel if you have any concerns about your health or that of anyone travelling with you. You should not travel if requested to self-isolate by the authorities.

We will refuse entry to anyone who has been instructed to self-isolate as part of the NHS Track and Trace process. If you or anyone in your party has knowingly travelled with symptoms or in breach of the Track and Trace regulations, and Milner House Guesthouse has to close to guests as a result, you will be liable for the full room rate for the entire quarantine period in addition to the payment due for the booked stay. The same will apply should you book a stay with us for the purposes of self-isolation.

You should cancel your booking if within 14 days of your due check-in date you have:

  • had Covid-19 symptoms check the South African Government website for more information.
  • been tested positive for Covid-19
  • knowingly come into close contact with someone who has had Covid-19 symptoms or tested positive for Covid-19

In all other circumstances if you cancel less than 24 hours before arrival (or in the event of non-arrival) a full charge will be made for the first night. We also reserve the right to charge for 75% of booked value for consecutive nights if we are unable to resell your room. We reserve the right to charge for unused nights in the event of an early departure.

We expect to be open and honouring all bookings for this period however if we are closed on the day you were due to arrive then you will not be charged and you will have the option to accept a full value gift voucher.

If your booking is via a third-party agent, please contact them directly and they will advise on the action you should take.

If you are required to quarantine with us, you must stay in your room for the entire period. We will discuss precise arrangements with you at the time. You will be liable for the full room rate for the entire quarantine period in addition to the payment due for the booked stay. You should consider arranging travel insurance should you be concerned.

DEPOSIT TO CONFIRM BOOKING & BALANCE OF BOOKING FEE

Rates are quoted in South African Rand and are inclusive of VAT and Breakfast. Rates are subject to confirmation and availability and may change without prior notice. Reservations are subject to terms and conditions on check-in, right of admission reserved.

DEPOSITS

We require a 100% deposit from guests to secure a reservation

CANCELLATIONS

No show or early departure forfeits 100% of total stay.

Cancellations 14 days or less prior forfeit 100% of total stay.

Cancellations 15 to 59 days prior forfeit 50% of total stay.

Cancellations in excess of 60 days prior will incur a 15% administration fee to cover banking and handling charges.

Please note that we do consider a cancellation on merit, if it is truly beyond the guests’ control, and will charge accordingly

CHECK-IN/OUT TIMES

Check-in: from 14h00 onwards

Check-out: 10h00 – late check-outs are only possible if rooms are empty the following day. You are welcome to have a cup of tea and relax in our lounge or we can hold your luggage until you are ready to depart.

Late arrivals:  To be arranged with management.

Early arrivals:  Early check-in is only possible if the room is ready for occupation.  If not, you are welcome to leave your luggage at the guest house while you go out and explore or you are welcome to have a cup of tea and relax in our lounge or garden until your room is ready.

PAYMENTS TO THIRD PARTIES

We do not pay third parties for any other services on your behalf. If monies are deposited into our account incorrectly we do not refund until cleared with our bank and will only refund directly into the original payer’ account less any banking and transaction fees.

CHILD POLICY

Children under 16 years of age are only allowed by prior arrangements.

ACCEPTED MEANS OF PAYMENT

We accept MasterCard and Visa credit/debit cards, EFT payment and cash.  We may not accept any foreign currency.

SMOKING POLICY

Smoking is not permitted in the rooms or the manor house, but ashtrays are provided in designated smoking areas on the private patios

LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

Guests agree on behalf of themselves and the members of their parties that neither the establishment, its owners, employees nor agents shall be responsible for any injury or death of any person or the loss or destruction of or damage to any property upon the premises, whether arising from fire, theft or any cause and by whomsoever caused or arising from the negligence (gross or otherwise) or wrongful act of any person in the employment of the guesthouse.

Any damage caused by guests to property and premises due to bad behaviour or carelessness, or keys lost and replaced for security reasons will be for the guests’ accountonwards
