Your agreement with Milner House Guesthouse
Effective from: July 1, 2021
This Agreement
Once a reservation is made, the guest has entered into a binding contract with Milner House Guesthouse and these terms and conditions apply in full. This agreement applies for all bookings made after or arriving from 1st July 2021.
COVID-19 Policy
Important: You should not travel if you have any concerns about your health or that of anyone travelling with you. You should not travel if requested to self-isolate by the authorities.
We will refuse entry to anyone who has been instructed to self-isolate. If you or anyone in your party has knowingly travelled with symptoms or in breach of regulations, and Milner House has to close as a result, you will be liable for the full room rate for the entire quarantine period in addition to the payment due for the booked stay.
You should cancel your booking if within 14 days of check-in you have:
- Had Covid-19 symptoms
- Been tested positive for Covid-19
- Knowingly come into close contact with someone who has had Covid-19 symptoms or tested positive
Gift Vouchers: If we are closed on your arrival date, you will not be charged and you will have the option to accept a full value gift voucher.
Quarantine Requirements: If required to quarantine with us, you must stay in your room for the entire period. You will be liable for the full room rate for the quarantine period plus your booked stay.
Rates & Deposits
Room Rates
All rates are quoted in South African Rand and are inclusive of VAT and Breakfast. Rates are subject to confirmation and availability and may change without prior notice.
Deposit Required
We require a 100% deposit from guests to secure a reservation.
Reservations are subject to terms and conditions on check-in. Right of admission reserved.
Cancellation Policy
No Show or Early Departure
Forfeits 100% of total stay
14 Days or Less Prior
Forfeits 100% of total stay
15 to 59 Days Prior
Forfeits 50% of total stay
60+ Days Prior
15% administration fee to cover banking and handling charges
We consider cancellations on merit if circumstances are truly beyond your control.
Check-In & Check-Out
Check-In
From 14:00 onwards
Early Arrivals: Early check-in is only possible if the room is ready. You're welcome to leave luggage and relax in our lounge or garden while you wait.
Check-Out
10:00
Late Check-Outs: Only possible if rooms are empty the following day. Feel free to relax in our lounge or leave luggage with us until departure.
Late Arrivals: Please arrange with management in advance.
Payment Methods
We accept:
- MasterCard
- Visa credit/debit cards
- EFT payment
- Cash (ZAR only)
Third Party Payments: We do not pay third parties for services on your behalf. Incorrect deposits will only be refunded to the original payer after bank clearance, less any fees.
Child Policy
Children under 16 years of age are only allowed by prior arrangement with management.
Smoking Policy
Smoking is not permitted in rooms or the manor house. Ashtrays are provided in designated smoking areas on private patios.
Limitation of Liability
Guests agree on behalf of themselves and members of their parties that neither the establishment, its owners, employees nor agents shall be responsible for any injury or death of any person or the loss or destruction of or damage to any property upon the premises, whether arising from fire, theft or any cause and by whomsoever caused or arising from the negligence (gross or otherwise) or wrongful act of any person in the employment of the guesthouse.
Damage & Lost Keys: Any damage caused to property due to bad behaviour or carelessness, or keys lost and replaced for security reasons, will be charged to the guest's account.
